Question: what should one recite if we have to pay off a heavy loan amount, in business, my father is really tied up....he has been trying to survive for about 6 years please help.
Answer: Al-Nawawi relates the following supplication for heavy debt burdens:
"اللَّهُمَّ اكْفِني بِحَلالِكَ عَنْ حَرَامِكَ، وَأغْنِني بِفَضْلِكَ عَمَّنْ سِواكَ"
Allaahumma-kfiniy biHalaalika ^an Haraamika wa 'aghniniy bifaDlika 6amman siwaak.
Make sure he pronounces it correctly with a good intention. Sincere repentence is very important for one's supplications to be answered.
