SH asked:
Is it permissible to accept a loan in which the goverment pays interest on behalf of the student during their time in school if the person is planning to pay it back before interest accumulates (6 month grace period after graduation?) Also, can they have a loan on a credit card if they transfer the balance to a new card each month and therefore do not pay any interest, just the minimum monthly payment? They plan to do this until they finish school and get a job and pay it off.

Answer:
No in all cases. It is haram to enter a contractual relationship that includes a loan based on the condition of some benefit to the lender. The debitor, creditor, writers and witnesses of such a contract are all sinful.
