Question: would like to know that is it important to have witness in nikaah?what if someone has a family and the family is not happy with them what should the couples do??
Answer: You must have two male accountable muslims as witnesses or one male with two females. A woman can marry herself if she has reached puberty, provided that the male is of suitable lineage, religious and social standing.
